Lesson Plans: I uploaded a complete unit plan for anatomy and physiology in the animal science section from Amanda Mullins (you see her name quite a bit on that page) - complete with an introduction, PowerPoint presentation, worksheet, review and a take home quiz. She also sent in a PowerPoint on the phylum chordate, as well. Natalie Schilling, who is my newest contributor, sent in a really good worksheet on biomes, which is to be used in conjunction with a specific website. Both of these teaching tools are found under the heading of agriscience.
Useful Docs: Amanda Mullins also sent in her time line that we will be using in her animal science class this year. "Class Syllabi / Course Outlines & Overviews" is where you will find this.

Lesson Plans: I have posted two new answer keys for tests that I created in the agricultural business, economics and finance section, as well as a new Intro to the FFA powerpoint in the FFA / Leadership section.

Teacher Ideas Blog Posts: There are two new entries on this page (the first new entries since the last of May, to be exact). The first one being the technology workshop powerpoint that was presented at the Tennessee CTE Conference a couple of weeks ago, that I took part in. Michael Coley developed the ppt. It is definitely worth taking a look at. The next blog post relates to a fun and free method of raising supplemental funds for your FFA chapter through recycling ink jet cartridges. I hope many of you will sign up to participate in this worth-while program.
Lesson Plans: You will find 13 new entries in the agricultural business, economics and finance section. All of the new material here was created by me. Personal and agribusiness credit, savings, investments, recordkeeping, taxation and depreciation are some of the topics that are covered in these lesson plans. Plus, you will find a small powerpoint on Farm Credit Services of Mid America, as well, to go along with the topic of agricultural loans.

Lesson Plans: I uploaded more agricultural business/finance lesson plans in that section this week. You will find a quiz pertaining to the Tractor Supply Co. power point that I uploaded last week, as well as a test for the 2 ppts that make up unit 1 (exploring agricultural business/finance). I also created two more ppts this week, which feature information on personal finance issues, like writing checks, balancing a checkbook and preparing a budget. I wrote a test for that unit, too.

Site Content
You will notice across the top, tabs to pages on this website that contain a wealth of information. The contents of each page are detailed below:
Teacher Ideas – This is where the blog is located. You will see different categories listed to the right of the page. Click on the RSS Feed button and get notified each time a new blog or "idea" is posted.
Lesson Plans – You will find banners for companies that provide already made materials to be used in the classroom and several links that will direct you to a multitude of sites containing lesson plans, as well. Plus, you will find a large amount of teacher-contributed lesson plans that have been grouped according to the course they can be used in.
CDE Prep – This page is similar to the “Lesson Plans” page, in that it exhibits banners for companies that sell CDE materials, links to sites that have CDE practice modules and teacher-contributed powerpoints, documents and manuals to be used to train your CDE teams.
Useful Docs – This page has been devoted to Word and PDF documents that you can change and alter to fit your needs. You will find officer applications, student data forms, various agreements and more all on this page. Again, they are divided by categories for faster findings.
Video Clips – YouTube videos relating to agriculture education and FFA will be found here. Since a lot of you may not be able to show YouTube videos at school, I would suggest sending your students to this site to view the videos. The very first one features a remarkable video on E.M. Tiffany, which would be excellent to show freshmen students.
Need A Fundraiser? – This page houses banners and links to use for contacting fundraising companies that work with FFA chapters. Most ag teachers will have a company or two that they have a long-standing relationship with. But, new teachers may not know where to start the fundraising process. And, some teachers may be looking for a change. You will find companies that sell candles, citrus fruit, smokes meat sticks, gourmet food, candy, discount cards and more.
Ag Mags – You will find the listings for various magazine publications that relate to some aspect of the agriculture industry. If you are not already a subscriber to one or more of these, I encourage you to consider some of them for building adding to your classroom and/or chapter library. Some of the subscriptions are even FREE!
Additional Resources – This page features companies, organizations and associations that can offer something unique to your agriculture program. I encourage you to click on the banners and look around their website to see what they can provide. Each one has an educational offering.
Links of Interest – A long list of websites have been compiled that pertain to a variety of topics in the agriculture industry. They have been divided up into major categories to enable you to find what you are looking for faster. Again, if there is a website or two that you use or think might be relevant to this site, please send it to me and I'll post it under the respective heading.
Marketplace - I want you all to know that I strongly encourage you to support the National FFA Supply Center and want you to purchase your FFA-related products and merchandise from Shop FFA. But, I found some different items that might be of interest to a few of you - especially the cookbook and "Blue, Gold, & Ivory" book. To be honest, I hope a lot of you will purchase a few things from this page, as the profits will be used to support FFA-sponsored events in my state and nationally. I will keep the ag teaching community abreast of what I do with the money that is earned. I think that is as fair as I can be.
About Me – This page simply gives you a brief description about me and why I chose to create this website.
Contact Us - Please use this page for any submissions you would like to make to the website. You may also email me at ideas4aged@gmail.com to send in your submissions or to make comments. I encourage each of you to send in your ideas for blog-postings and links for websites that you use frequently when your time permits.
